Today you are a theme detective. Your job is to spot what changes when the same website wears a new design.

Before the switch

  1. Write down the name of the current theme.
  2. Look at the home page and open a lesson post.
  3. Notice the title, picture, menu, and main text.
  4. Make a quick sketch of where those items appear.

After the switch

Open the same pages again. Use this checklist to guide your comparison:

  • Text: Did the letter style or size change?
  • Colors: Which colors are different?
  • Space: Is the page wider, narrower, or more open?
  • Pictures: Did the size or crop change?
  • Posts: Are they shown in a list, a grid, or another layout?
  • Navigation: Can you still find your way around?

Finish this sentence: I would choose this theme because… Use something you noticed on the page to explain your choice.

A different design can change how the same message feels.

Remember: A theme preview may use sample pictures and layouts. Your own content helps you see how the theme will work for your site.
